Other Classes!

  1. CHEMEISTRY
First off I never did good in chemistry or anything in the science and math field. Freshman year at Rhodes I was terrified I was thinking oh great I am going to be close to failing again. I always hated passing by the minimal. But I have Mr. Davis for my first year chemistry. I LOVE his class it is fun and I can easily sit there and actually pay attention to all of his lectures. I still struggle on test and quizzes but I still feel like I am grasping the main concept behind all of his lessons. When his classes let out so early I do not mind standing there and anf talking to him. He is very funny and will turn anything science related into something funny that I will remember. I have never had a teacher like that. I am so hoping that later on in my college career that I have him for another science class because I know going into it that I will do well and not have to worry about passing at the bare minimal like all of the past years. Some people are born to be teachers and some seemed forced to be teachers. I believe teachers like Mr. Davis were born to be teachers. I have heard people bad talking him before outside of class and that really angers me I just want to say something because I feel people like them are so narrow minded and take his funniness in teaching and think it’s a joke. If Mr. Davis was not my teacher I would probably be close to failing chemistry.

  2. MATH CLASS!!
For my freshman year I have a basic math class. I feel like I have learned everything already; however I see it as a good refresher before I get into the harder math classes. I have always done pretty well in math class in high school I loved my math teacher she was pretty young and could understand the students very well. But in college it is a different situation. Do not get me wrong I like my college professor but I feel like I learned better with my high school teacher. Going on my college professor breaks all of the steps down very well and we always go over enough examples so by the time I leave the class for the day I feel like I fully understand the lesson. The one big pitfall I see to my math class is the timing. I have math from 9:30 to 10:55 I do not mind longer classes but her class seems to drag on and on when I know what the teacher is talking about. The second day of class I thought I was going to all out fall asleep and snore in the middle of the lesson. Thank goodness I did not! My freshman year I have had good teachers I need to focus for me though on paying attention and listening to all little details, because that is where I miss a lot. I feel like I could have done better this semester, and I am hoping I do not have to take any class over so next semester I can do way better!
